- All words replaced with symbols or code
- Posted by ajmchief on November 23rd, 2007
Hi, when I started up my computer all words had been replaced with symbols
(looks like a wingdings font of some kind). All files, folders,
menus...everything is symbols. For example, the Start button is spelled out
with "question mark, up arrow, check mark, cancel X, and up arrow." I have
run every check I can think of. Can anyone help me figure out what happened
and how to get English words back instead of these symbols?

This is obviously not a hardware issue. Best to post it
in WindowsXP.general.
