Antec Front USB
Posted by Bigdawg on November 27th, 2005

I have a Antec 1080 Server case with front mounted USB, my motherboard has
USB 1 and 2 sockets, but when I plug in a Sandisk jumpdrive device manager
finds new hardware. However its Not Reconfigured. But if I use the rear
socket it works. Device Manager list Enhanced PCI to USB and OpenHCD Host
Controllers under the USB's. My flight stick and Momo wheel will work when
plugged into the front panel but the wheel will loose the force feedback
every so often. Is it possible the front sockets are just USB 1?
Win XP Pro w/ SP2 and all update
Gigabyte socket 754
AMD 3400 1mb L2
1gb Giel RAM
NVIDIA RAID WD Raptors X2
Sil RAID WD 120's X2 Base
Primary Master PX-716
Slave LTD-165
Secondary Master Premium
Slave Zip-250
BFG 6800 Ultra 256mb
Audigy 2 Platinum
Linksys 10/100/1000
onboard
Marvell 10/100
TI OHCI 1394
The only really odd thing is my printer HP 7260 with a card reader adds
allot of Dot 4? items in the Device Manager. SanDisk, Gigabyte, and MS have
been no help. SanDisk gave up and offered a refund.

Contact Antec. Some of their cases had defective font usb cards. They will
send you a new one that works.
