- desktop background

I am unable to change my background. When windows starts up i see my new
background but then it only appears as colors. When i go to display
properties i can only chose colors as my bakground the box is grayed out.
HELP!!

Open Regedit and navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\System
-and-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\SysteÂ*m
Delete the values "Wallpaper" and "WallPaperStyle" in the right-pane.
Close Regedit

Please right click on your desktop and make sure that the output is set
to desktop monitor and not laptop screen.
