- drive D unaccessable and unformatted?
- Posted by swimmydeepo@yahoo.co.uk on September 26th, 2005
I got a Blue screen after changing the default soundcard (I have 2 of
them) and trying to listen to some Midi files.
As I rebooted the system, I got a message saying that windows XP
couldn't start and the file Hal.dll was missing/corrupted and needed to
be reinstalled.
Now I am unable to access drive D (I have another drive C installed
with its on windows XP Pro) and therefore I cannot extract Hal.dll into
the system directory.
To top the lot, it seems that the drive is now unformatted (as I tried
to access it from drive C).
Have I lost all the data in drive D or is there anything I could try to
solve the problem?
any suggestion would be appreciated,
Thanks
Alex
