- DVD Rom /CD RW problem

I have a Toshiba Satellite A30 Laptop and i am having a problem with the dvd
rom drive, i will not recognise any media i put in to it, i've checked the
device manager and it shows the drive as working ok, i've also uninstalled
the drivers and reinstalled but still the same. HELP ANYONE !!!!

Thanks for the info, none of it has worked, the device manager says that the
device is working properly but it will not spin the disc or read the info,
any other hints ???

Call you local Toshiba Service Center and they can check the drive. If it's
still under guarantee, they will replace it.

Yup, exactly as above. If the fix(es) from the page did nothing and you
tried all of them properly it's hardware issues meaning you'll need to
replace it.
