- Everest - Aida32 is leaving the freeware market - it's a shame
- Posted by LVTravel on December 9th, 2005
Thought some of the people that routinely help others in these newsgroups
might like to see this.
Went to Everest's home site and found that they are no longer making Everest
Home edition available.
http://www.lavalys.com/news.php?arti...cat=PR&lang=en
A quote from their site "LAVAL, CANADA - December 5, 2005 - After 10 years
of active development and presence in the freeware market, EVEREST Home
Edition (the successor of AIDA32) is being discontinued on December 1, 2005
"
A good free program bites the dust!

This pretty much leaves Belarc Advisor as one of the means to
ascertain the Product Key used in the Windows XP installation
along with other pertinent system information.

Everest is a fine tool that should live on and will provide excellent info
for many computer users now and in the future.. True it is being
discontinued, and will be supported only until March 2006 by Lavalys, on
their Online Community Forum.. If you can obtain it now you can still benefit
for as long as you own your rig and or it (Everest or Aida32) serves it's
purpose..
Get it here FREE for as long as it lasts, Everest ver 220...
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html
While Aida32 still serves a purpose, obtainable here for FREE...

I don't here the fat lady singing yet, though she is warming up..

Mike
The freeware version had a software report until relatively recently.
Looks like it is:
http://www.lavalys.com/purchase.php?...y=evue&lang=en
Special price before 31 January 2006,
You can still get the freeware version 2.2 through the Geeks site. I do not
know when that availability will be withdrawn. It cannot continue if Everest
wish to offer a product for purchase to the exclusion of the freeware
version,
which seems to be their intent.
http://www.lavalys.com/news.php?arti...cat=PR&lang=en
Support for the freeware version ends March 2006.

The free version won't be withdrawn. It will just become obsolete over time
as it is not updated to identify newer hardware.

Yes that's how I interpreted withdrawal of support in March 2006. It's nice
to know
another interprets the situation as I do. Thanks for your confirmation.
