- External harddrive usb problems
- Posted by jaklrew on May 19th, 2006
I have a problem somewhat like the other hard drive problems but i
think it is unique. I have a 250 gb iomega drive. At first it worked
fine when connnected to my highspeed ports in back of computer. Now it
only shows the letter and after digging further it shows the drive to
be empty. I have somewhere around 50 gigs of data on the drive though.
If i plug it into the front usb drive which are not highspeed 2.0
everything is fine and it shows all my content. However, it is
frustrating to now put stuff on the drive because it takes much to long
to transfer. I work at circuit city and the techs there could not help
me. Please help.

Try removing the card. Then turn the system on. Then shut it down. Then
replace the card. Turn the system on, let Windows rediscover the card and
install the drivers. If it asks for drivers, give it the drivers CD. If
none of that works, your card is probably broken, get a new card.
