Gateway Notebook

How can I troubleshoot this Gateway notebook's motherboard? It only boots
to the BIOS screen. It is not worth paying $150.00 for a mother board then
it may be something else

What is your advice?

Thanks.

If the motherboard is only $150, then you're very lucky. Most notebook
system boards run around $450.

I'd take it to a Gateway Service Center and let them handle it.

Due dilligance. Make sure it's not one of the peripherals gone bad,
like the hard drive. It might also be the RAM, but only if you're
really unlucky.

Another cheap trick is to diisconnect the power, yank the battery, wait
a minute or so. Then plug it back in. Pray it works.

Also Check the BIOS settings and make sure that they're kosher.

Thank you Cari and Paul for your advice. Call me when you get to New
Orleans so I can buy you some Gumbo
