Go to the website of the notebook manufacturer and download and install the
audio drivers from their website.

I have tried to download from the manufacturer the audio drivers from
their website, it downloads then i have a message appear, "windows
cannot open this file. To open, windows needs to know what program
created it." It then gives me the option to search programs on web or
select manually from list. Do you know what i must do from here. Sorry
if its a stupid question, but im not computer literate.

You are obviously downloading the wrong file then. Perhaps you are
downloading instructions that are in a .pdf file instead of the
drivers.

If you would like to give me the url of the laptop mftr.'s website where
you found the file, I'll check it out for you. It would also be useful
if you would include the make/model of your laptop.
