HP a1010y Sound Card problem "Can't find Match HDAudio Inf File" wheninstalling sound card driver.
Posted by canadian eoot on December 30th, 2007

I am having troubles installing Realtek Audio sound card drivers for
my desktop HP a1010y

I got the drivers from the HP site:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...8 376&lang=en

Every time I try to install the driver it comes up with the error "
Cann't find Match Realtek HDAudio Inf File ! " followed by "
Realtek HD Audio driver Setup Failure "

The setup does allow the wizard to finish installing the drivers after
the error and prompts to restart when finished. A similar error pops
up while uninstalling.

the driver listed in the installed programs list but no sound card is
recognized.

I read in another thread that the Microsoft Universal Audio
Architecture (UAA) Bus drivers needed to be installed first to help
recognize the card (or something). I found the UAA drivers here
thanks to another google groups thread (link below). But I installed
it and got the exact same error.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...en&dlc=en&lang

Everything with smoothly on my xp install except this sound driver
that is driving me crazy. Thanks in advance.

Realtec is simply a headache, they brought it & all the problems themselves
though as they refuse to get the software/drivers signed thru microsoft
WHQL..
Youre best bet,go to realtec home page, locate the latest, download and
install...

That is not the drivers, that is an update.
That is not the realtek site.

This is the link you require: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/

Double-click: "High Defination Audio Codecs (Software)"
A dialog will appear, select where to save to (My Doc's or desktop
etc)
The download will create a folder.
Once download is complete open the downloaded folder
The folder will contain many entries, you are only to be
concerned with the setup executable, locate it and double-click
(It maybe named "SetUp" or "setup.exe" )
Setup will install the contents of the folder.
You may have to click to agree to a license.
Once installation is complete close all windows.
The drivers etc will be installed.

Worked like a charm.

A "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver Update" is listed here, a 13MB file.
That is the only HP file that looks reasonable to solve a sound problem. 5.10.0.5123

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...4 827&lang=en

You can look for the latest ReakTek driver here. R1.91 = 5.10.0.5605
"Windows 2000, Windows XP/2003(32/64 bits) Driver only (ZIP file)"

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false

KB888111 UAA driver is here, if that seems to be missing. You can try
installing this first, and then try the ReakTek driver afterwards.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...en&dlc=en&lang

To make HDaudio work, you need the UAA driver from Microsoft (one may be
included in the RealTek or HP packages, or you can get the file separately).
Then, the hardware driver component is also needed (as it contains registry
entries that map the jack configuration to the hardware).
