I get the following message: "HPSJRREG Application has encountered a problem
a needs to close" when trying to use my scanner "HP ScanJet 4200C" directly
from the 3 buttons provided in the scanner: 1 for scanning, other for copying
and the other for e-mailing.
I had problems reinstalling the scanner after a Windows XP reinstallation. I
used the software provided in the HP webpage (my software only suitable for
Windows 98 or previous) but then the scanner could only be used by one user,
the other users got messages about "settings" that I could not or didn't
know (how to) change.
I unisntalled the software and installed the scanner allowing Windows XP to
recognise the USB port. Now it works for all users but the 3 buttons that
allow you to start the scanner directly, do not work and edit a send/don't
send report which I explained above.
To use the scanner we have to go through "Control Panel", "Printers and
Other Hardware", "Scanners and Cameras".
I think that when trying to find the most appropiate software and drivers
from the HP webpage I installed one that I found out it was not suitable and
uninstalled and since then I have the problem of the error message.
I thought that after uninstalling the scanner and installing it through
Windows XP it would not happen again but apparently this file is corrupted or
missing.
Everytime the scanner has been installed through USB port.
What can I do? Can anyone help, please?
Thank you!
