Mouse will still work, so I can close applications, save work, and
restart.
A shut down to standby won't work. Keyboard still frozen upon restart.
No errors listed in event viewer.
Every lock up happens immediately after garbled text is pasted into
active application. Sometimes accompanied by beeps (probably random
characters for beep)
Dell functions still work on keyboard.. (function mute) (function dim
screen)
Caps Lock does not toggle Caps lock light. Same for num lock and scroll
lock.

Anyway to reset keyboard with mouse?
