- Local disk not visible
- Posted by hammond mike on February 15th, 2008
My external usb hard drive just recently became invisible to Windows Explorer
and My Computer. Previously it was designated F: and was seen by WE and MC.
Now it is designated G: and is seen in System Hardware and during various
scans. I added a usb printer which Windows has designated as F: and is
listed as a printer, mass storage device, and local hard drive in System
Hardware. How do I get access to the external drive again, and how do I get
Windows to recognize the printer as only a printer???

Then don't buy printers with memory card plugins. As to the external
hard drive, what does it matter if you access it as F: or G:?

Whoops! Try downloading "TweakUI" powertoy from Microsoft Downloads and
use it to "UNhide" the "G:"
