- MS Lifecam VX-6000 Problem
- Posted by curious_mind on December 16th, 2007
I have installed the drivers for MS Lifecam VX-6000 (newest version,
LC-14.exe, v.1.40, downloaded directly from the MS website) on a Hungarian
LEGAL Windows XP SP2 (Athlon X64) machine. The Microsoft Lifecam Software
(Microsoft Lifecam menu, Properties, Settings) gives me a lot of tweakables,
but it is missing the 'wholy trinity' buttons at the bottom of the window (OK
- Cancel - Apply) and so I cannot save the changes in the settings (Low
light, B/W, etc.). The exact same program on a nearly identical PC clearly
displays those buttons that are missing here. The camera otherwise is
recognized and works with the system, just not with the settings I would like.
What am I to do?
Your assistance would be sincerely appreciated.

The only solution I see is to completely remove the software and reinstall.
I have had the same cam for about a year. It has developed a loud humm from
the built in mic so have to keep the mic disabled. Just something to watch
for....

There's a thread on microsoft.public.mshardware.product on this. The
problem is present on my VX-3000 also and has been on two others that
preceded it (ruled out a hardware issue). It does this on any XP machine
I connect it to, Home, Pro, or MCE. It's gotta be a driver problem, yet
MS has been no help with resolving it.
Sorry for hijacking this thread. Can't help with the original problem at
all since I don't use the Hungarian version.
