My CD drive isn't being recognized
Posted by EsialbusMaximus@gmail.com on December 26th, 2005

HI, i'm having problems with my CD-ROM drive. i bought my Computer off
of ebay, and for a couple months the comp worked fine, but now the
CD-Rom drive doesn't work after using it once or twice after you turn
on the computer. to make it work again, you have to restart or turn
off the computer, and it just gets to be a pain. now, i think my
computer has been "made better" (for lack of the correct word) by
making the computer think it's got more CPU than it really has, thus
improving the preformance. i know this does improve preformance, but
it can cause overheating. is my CD-ROM drive over heating or
something? what's wrong, that it works sometimes, but then shuts down.
Help please!

can't be. it works sometimes. i actually stuck a freeze pack on it
today and kept the window near it cracked, and it worked. :P. i guess
i'm going to have to get some advanced cooling system or something.
now that i look at it, i think it's the power supply that's the
problem. my old power supply got knocked out in an electrical blackout,
so i had to replace it. the new one is a bit stronger, so it generates
more heat. i think that's the problem.
