My mouse touch pad is not working.

I have a laptop and the touch pad is not working it wount let me click on the
items i want it only moves around up and down and highlights nothing else
please help me i have to use the right and left aarrow keys its beand new not
even a 1 year yet.

How do i backuo the data from the harddrive and what about all my other stuff
on it andd can't i just take it back to where i bought it.
