- New V7 Monitor Speakers Aren't Working

I just purchased a V7 LCD 19" monitor with speakers. However, when I
connect the speakers to my Compaq 5000 Presario computer, they don't
work. Both connections are okay and so is the volume control. What
else should I be checking?
If anyone has experience with the type of monitor I would appreciate
hearing from you.

Tried that--couldn't get help from either one.

under Control Panel, Sounds, make sure you have set the options correctly for MONTOR speakers.
then double click on speaker in tray, if you have it there, and enable all the sounds under properties. and make sure they re not muted.
