please help,

my computer shows that i have no active devices for sound. i Have no
sound cards, just integrated sound - the box is grey'd out and i can't
do anything about it.......any idea?

Right click MyComputer on the desktop.
Click Properties in the popup menu.
Click the Hardware tab > Device Manager button.
Expand "Sound, Video and Game Controllers".

Is your device listed and/or does it show to have any conflicts shown by a
yellow exclamation point or a red X in a circle? If your device is listed and
shows to have any conflict:

Right click on the device and click Properties in the popup menu.
Under the General tab, what's listed in the Device Status pane?

If your device is not listed, try reinstalling the device with drivers
downloaded from the manufacturers support site per their instructions.

If your device is not listed and there are any devices listed as Other and\or
Unknown:
