Can't be done on 1 partition, as linux does not use either fat32 or
ntfs.It will read them and full access.Boot loader is totally
different in linux and dos can't see a linux partition.On top of
this,most flavors of linux require 3 partitions.Get yourself another
drive.set it up as master and install xp pro.Unplug the old drive or
you will have a dual boot system.Get a big drive and set up with xp cd
with at least 2 partitions.Install xp to the first.Recover data from
other hdd to another partition on new drive.After you install virus
protection and scan everything of course.Then format the old drive.

Get adaware,spybot,hijack this,trojanhunter for spyware.Antivirus and
firewall protection.Don't reley on windows for this.CA assosiates
ez-firewall &antivirus work well and don't hog resources on a low end
cpu.

Hope you Own it!Keep you business files on a different partition and
also create different users on the puter for you and your kid's.Set an
administrator password on installation also.
