recover lost files

anybody know how to recover lost files. i lost my keyboarding files somehow.
the ones for xp not the drivers. if i go to the device manager, it does'nt
show a keyboard icon. i now am typing with the on screen keyboard in
acceories.

any ideas.

Unplug the keyboard and then replug it. If the device is not
installed, try another keyboard or change the batteries, if this is a
wireless device.
