sound card doesn't work on 4GB RAM

my motherboard is Intel DG31PR

sound card doesn't work if I plug in 4GB RAM. But it works if I plug in 2GB
RAM.

is this because of the memory reservation?
i have to use XP x64?

If you are using 32bit Windows XP then read the article below::

Try adding the 3GB as mentioned in the above article to your boot.ini file.
