- Sound drivers

After reloading XP on my sisters notebook and I think I have loaded all
drivers from acer website as no oroginal disks
on laptop which had corrupted registery.However eventhough device manager
shows Legacy audio drivers loaded and working when I try
to play music files, media player says no audio device loaded.Some advise
please.
Acer aspire 1642Z.Thanks.
