i'm tryng to find what speed memory i have, i've tryed searching the pc but
cant find anything and i've searched the net but theres nowhere on the net
that tells you how to check what speed memory you have and tiny computers are
usless as their system is always down and they cant tell me what speed
memory my pc has and they charge £1 a min just to tell you a load of rubbish,
i need to know the speed of the memory so i can get some more memory on
wednesday but pc world said i need to know the speed or i cant get the memory
and they can check for me but i dont really wanna pay out £10 for a cab to
take the whole dam tower down to the shop and bak
can anyone help me please?

Go to crucial.com They have a small program you can download and will ell
you all about your current ram, including how many slots you have and what is
currently installed.

Go to the Crucial web site (www.crucial.com) and use their memory selecter
tool, which will show you the exact specifications for the memory needed by
your computer.

i've downloaded it but dont know which bit it is,
is it the Memory Bus Properties ? under that bit it says

under Processor Properties its got

External Clock 133 MHz

Current Clock 1467 MHz


and the overclock bit has

and under SPD its got

it just says 256mb and 512mb but only at 133MHz, foned up pc world and they
told me to just take the memory out of the pc and take it down to them and
they can sort it out, as i gave them the speed and the make of the pc etc..
but their system didnt recongise it,

If nothing else works Mand the best way to figure out what memory you have is
to look at the chips on the memory. Course you have to be able to open your
PC and get to it. There will usualy be 8 or 9 flat black chips with writing
on them. Each chip will have the same code on it. Look this number and letter
combination up on google and it will give you a idea of what the chip is.

We sometimes get customers bringing in unmarked memory. This is the best way
ive found to figure it out. Also the chip may very well be marked.

To help you out I looked up the manuale for this board. Its a DIMM board.
Considering that you have a 133 front side bus you will most likely want 3.3v
PC133 SDRAM.

Home told you what it is.. Crucial.com told you what it is.. others have
told you what it is..

Re-type your question using standard first letter of sentence
capitalization. A period and a space after the period (at the end of a

You already have 128mb of pc 133mhz sdram dimm
You can buy this ram as 32, 64, 128, 256, and 512 mb
even though Pc world or whoever only has 128 and 256mb

you have 2 slots for ram (one used)

You have a max ram of 1 gig.
Therefore, you can purchase up to TWO 512mb pc133mhz ram
What ever size you buy wouldn't be bad idea to buy in pairs of same size

BUT you already ONE 128mb pc133, you have the option of:
purchasing (since PC world only has 128 and 512 mb)
you can purchase one 128 or 512 mb
Total Ram could:
One 128 + 256 = 384 mb
One 128 + 512 = 640 mb

OR get rid of the 128 and you can mix and match 256 and 512
or buy two 256 (total 512) OR two 512 (total 1gig)
