- whql remot boot test
- Posted by mervin001 on October 12th, 2005
hi,
i'm trying to windows logo a desktop system and need to pass the remote boot
test. i have set-up all that was required but the test fails on packet
analysis. the log files reveal that the GUID is not valid. when the test
system boots via pxe, it shows the mac address and the GUID but the GUID only
contains F's.
i have read-up that the guid is normally assigned by the manufacturer and is
then associated with a RIS setup via ADS (which holds the info in the COA).
is ads required in order for a guid to be generated?
any input would be appreciated
