Access denied when trying to access shared folder
Posted by B on October 14th, 2005

I have 2 computers, 1 desktop and a laptop (connected wirelessly). I was
able to share files before, now it says that I "do not have
permission.....contact administrator...path not found"...What's going on. I
have been reading other post, not helpful. How do I know what Firewalls I
have and which ones to disable. Also, isn't diabling a firewall harmful. I
have Norton....could this be it? AOL...could this be it? Basically, how do
I know what firewalls that I have? What is simple file sharing? Can someone
walk me through the exact steps on what to do. I don't know too much about
computers, so please talk to me like a dummy. Thanks

Well SP2 has its own firewall, you probably need to open firewall, exceptions,
then add program and/or add port.In the least,IE should be added. Also, event
viewer might have some info.
