Ad hoc wireless connection between XP and Vista?
Posted by Magic Lantern on July 4th, 2008

I have a PC with a broadband internet connection running XP and a wireless
enabled laptop running Vista. If I buy a wireless PCI card for the main
computer, would it be possible to create an ad hoc network connection to the
laptop?

Thanks Jonathan, UK

Once the wireless is connected use Zero Configuration 1. Click Start, click
Control Panel, and then click Network and Internet Connections. 2. Click
Network Connections, right-click Wireless Connection, and then click
Properties. 3. View the available options:

Hi Jon,
Yes you can set this setup without a router!
But you will need to Configure the Host which the other computer will access
the internet through it.
So you will set these settings as follow:

* Configuring the Host Computer
* Configuring a Client Computer
