- Assistance with SP3 processor patch for AMD machines

I have a Compaq pc with and AMD processor and need to install the
HP/Compaq SP3 patch before installing SP3. However each time I attempt
to install the patch I get an error message telling me I cannot
install the patch because I do not meet the minimum requirements for
this update (9998). I have reviewed the minimum requirements and I
more than meet these requirements. I am confused by one requirement
and that is I must be logged in as administrator. I am logged on as
owner and that is considered to be my administrator account. There are
no other user accounts.
Anyone have any suggestions or input on what is causing my problem?

attemps before success.
