Backspace key when browsing on internet explorer
Posted by Jono0055 on December 24th, 2005

I'm using Windows XP on a laptop. When I hit the backspace key when browsing
on internet explorer, it takes me back to the previous page I was on. How do
I change this?

Change it to WHAT? To a 5-second Mission Impossible countdown to
self-destruct your laptop?

Find a keyboard remapping utility or keyboard macro utility that lets you
redefine what gets sent to the OS for the scan code received from the
keyboard.

In the meantime since my last reply, I also found that the TweakUI powertoy
for Windows XP has a feature to redefine or disable some keys. In TweakUI,
navigate to the following node in the tree:

Explorer -> Command Keys

Never used it so don't how well it works.
