BSOD - can't boot on safe mode either
Posted by mathman321 on January 14th, 2006

When I turn on the computer, I get the blue screen with the message
unmoutable_load_volume. Any attempt to boot in safe mode or return to last
known good config is met with the same blue screen Anyone help?

Hi,

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME means something is seriously wrong with either the
drive or the initial bootstrap. Load the Recovery Console and try running
fixboot from the prompt. If that fails, you might try running "chkdsk c:
/r".

HOW TO: Install and Use the Recovery Console in Windows XP [Q307654]
