- C\WINDOWS\system32\WINCTR~1.EXE Pops up every 2-5 mins

the error message: 16 bit ms dos subsystem
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.
CS:0536 IP:0103 OP:63 6b 65 2e 'close to terminate the application.
I think i lack the file to execute, i do not know, can someone help me?

Actually you have something extra. WINCTR~1.EXE is probably spyware or a
virus.
Update your antivirus software and run a complete system scan.
Do the same with whatever antispyware programs that you have.

I have this same problem, have run my anti-virus and spyware programs and
this still pops up every 2 minutes or so. Is there something else I can try
to get rid of it?

Try this. Stop WINCTR~1.EXE if it is running.
Open Task Manager...
Ctrl + Shift + Esc | Click the Processes tab |
Locate WINCTR~1.EXE, right click it and select
End Process | Click YES to whatever popsup |
Start | Run | Type or paste: %windir%\System32 |
Click OK | Scroll down the right hand pane to locate WINCTR~1.EXE |
Right click WINCTR~1.EXE and select Delete | Click YES to the popup |
Empty your Recycle Bin
