- Can't back up System State using NTbackup

Error message: "Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy:
800423F4 aborting backup."
All other data on the drive can be backed up, but it refuses to do the
System State.

Disable shadow copy and give it a try. Advantage of enabling shadow copy is
that open files will be backed up but it may be a problem for you.
