- Can't Close Windows XP Pro -
- Posted by LiCal on July 3rd, 2008
Now, every time shutting down Windows XP Professional, I would receive
2 End program screens
1. Explorer ; soon clicking End Program the next is
2. HiddenFax; after clicking End Program
the Windows will then proceed to shut down.
What / how I can do to improve this without needing manually shutting
down these two programs?

Go to Start Button \ Run \ and type "regedit" (w/o quotes) and hit Enter.
Next go to the "Desktop" registry key and look for the valune named
"WaitToKillAppTimeout", double click on the value and replace the 20000 time
out to 5000.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\ (REG_SZ) WaitToKillAppTimeout
