Changeing drive order?
Posted by Gerald Bramwell on May 9th, 2006

Hello,

I recently purchased a base unit with a HD and a DVD writer the HD was
partitiond into three drives so I had C:\ D:\ and E:\ for the HD and G:\
for the DVD. I have since added a second HD from my old machine also
partitioned into three drives which show up as H:\ I:\ and J:\ is there
any way of making the DVD show up as last in the string I.E. make the
DVD J:\ and the second HD G:\ H:\ and I:\

Thanks

Gerald

You should be able to change them by right clicking on My Computer and
selecting Disk Management. You'll need to right click on the DVD drive and
change it's letter to K: (temporarily). Then do the same with your 3
partitions on the second drive changing them to G:, H: and I:. Then go
back and change the DVD drive to J:.

I should have said right click on My Computer, select Manage and click on
Disk Management, Then right click on each drive and select Change Drive
Letter and Paths.
