Every time I open internet explorer or windows media player my computer
crashes. it displays the blue screen of death for just a second before
reseting. it is xp pro with sp2. any help would be great .

Same thing happened to my sisters computer - winxp home. The only time it
ever happed to me was in win 98, and when I contacted support I was told it
was a corruption and I needed to format and reboot. I ended up doing the same
thing to my sisters. Hope you dont have to got to extreme. Maybe someone has
a solution.
If they do I would sure like to know for future reference.

I am going to run the automated xp repair tool and see if that helps, If not
ill format the hard drive.
