No theme, the icons seem to have changed some other way
Even if I change the theme the folder icon stays the same (a really crap
image)

ShellIconFix - Utility to repair the shell object icons in Windows XP:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/shelliconfix.htm
Download the utility, unzip and run it.
Select the option "Repair Folder icon"
Click Repair.
For the changes to take effect immediately, enable the checkbox "Apply
changes immediately". Note that this option would reset your desktop icon
layout.
