Differences of Acronis "OS Selector","Partition Expert" and "Disk Director" ??
Posted by Frank Callone on March 5th, 2006

I am confused about the many Parition software tools of Acronis.
Is the software that bad that they invent or re-name every month a new software ?

What are the differences ?

I have heard that OS Selector installs itself as a software into its own FAT partition.
That would be very dangerous. Is this true ?

Hello Frank Callone,
These are three different tools provided by Acronis. They don't re-name
any product.
Before they released Disk Director there were different products:
-OS Selector is a multi-boot software utility that allows you to
install multiple operating systems on your PC;
-Acronis Partition Expert allows you to resize, move, copy, split, and
merge partitions without losing your data;
But now, Disk Director includes these tools and another:
-Acronis Recovery Expert allows you to recover accidentally lost or
deleted partitions;
-Acronis Disk Editor is a disk drive repair tool that allows you to
perform advanced operations on your hard disk drive, such as
restoration of boot records and hexadecimal editing.
My great experience in using this product, confirm its security.
I have installed OS Selector, it doesn't create any partition, it has
good-looking boot wizard. So I've never heard, if smbd had any bad
experience with it.
