any ideas why the dirty bit keeps getting set onto my harddrive?

the 5 phase chkdsk is ran every time to take it off, but its annoying to
have to do it everyday.. it will set it as "not dirty" afterwards, but upon
rebooting it gets set back to dirty somehow..

what can i do to prevent this?
