My desktop used to have the Windows xp taskbar but the title bars (in
explorer etc) were not the Windows xp style. They looked more like the title
bar in yahoo messenger. Unfortunately I did not save the theme and had to
format my harddrive and reinstall Windows and can't remember how I got it to
look like this. Any ideas?

Deb

Right click on the Start button and select Properties, Task bar tab.

The settings I had before had the Windows classic title bar for programs (IE,
Outlook etc) and the Windows xp taskbar. I can't change what the taskbar
looks like when I right click on the start button, select properties and
click on the Taskbar tab.

Have you unlocked the Taskbar before trying to change it? After making
changes you need to relock the Taskbar.

Where you change settings does the sample Taskbar under Taskbar
appearance resemble or differ from your Taskbar?

As far as I can tell, I cannot change the taskbar from classic style to xp
style this way, with or without the taskbar locked

Whether I have my theme as Classic or XP, the taskbar looks like the XP
taskbar in the Taskbar and Start Menu settings.

I tried experimenting on my own machine. I am afraid I am stumped.
