- Don't see "Wireless Networks" tab in wireless network card properties
- Posted by Herb on February 17th, 2006
I have a Windows XP laptop with SP2 installed.
I recently bought a wireless network card
(http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/s...ml?NOV-54GPCM), but when
I tried to use it for the first time in a hotel the other day I had
trouble connecting to the network.
The card is installed properly, but I don't see the "Wireless Networks"
tab in the wireless network card properties window - all I see is a
General tab and an Advanced tab.
I just spoke to Novatech technical support (the supplier of the card).
The guy said the "Wireless Networks" tab was introduced with XP SP2, and
he was puzzled about the fact that I don't see this tab.
Any ideas?
Thank you.

Having read http://support.microsoft.com/kb/871122/en-us, I managed to
start the Wireless Zero Configuration service via
"%SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc /s" from the Run command line, and I
now see the "Wireless Networks" tab :-)
