downloading help

When i try and download a file it doesnt work. after its done the download
window just closes and the file isnt on my desktop. Does anyone know how to
fix his?

you're going to need a heck of a lot more information than that. what kind
of download. where are you trying to save it to. what site. what web
browser. as a general thing, try right clicking and going to "save as..."
and saving it to a specific location.

Are you sure you have the destination set as yor desktop and not somewhere
else like your documents folder? Search for the file and see where you
downloaded it to.

Try this:

Right-click the Start button and choose "Explore."
After the Windows Explorer window opens, go to Tools, Folder Options, View.
Check the "Show hidden files and folders" button. Click OK.

Then try looking here: C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp

Replace the "Owner" part with your own account name.

its not in there, i chose to save it on my desktop but its not there. It
doesn't save on any other account too, i cant even download the windows
updates.
