- Driver installation causes corruption
- Posted by Wayne on November 15th, 2005
I have been recovering from a hard disk problem, I had everything back to
normal, but then tried to install some drivers from a CD I had gotten with my
PC, it locked up and now cannot boot even in safe mode. I looked at the list
in recovery console and found these 4 at least:
ac97intc - intel 82801 audio install service (wdm)
agp440 - intel agp bus filter
e100b intel (R) pro adapter driver
IntelATA - Intel ultra ata controller
I was most susipcious of the last one. I turned them all off in recovery
console but this did not help. What should I do next? Is there another driver
that I can just run on? Can I go back to a restore point if I cannot get into
safe mode? Thanks for the help.
