Dvd drive won't read dvd's
Posted by Dobbo on October 3rd, 2005

The dvd drive is not able to see that there is a dvd in there, it will
however appear busy when you put the dvd in. It does however still read
cd's. My 6 year old son was playing around on it the other day and I am not
too sure what he did. All the codecs ect are still in date. I have tried to
get dvd's to play on both interactive and windows media player. Anyone got
any ideas??

I've been told that DVD drives use two different lasers. One is to read CD
while the other is used for DVD. It could be that the DVD laser mode is not
working anymore.

So could it be that the laser for the dvd is just dirty?
