- Error applying attributes. Access denied.
- Posted by Jono0055 on January 26th, 2006
I created a database (.mdb) file with MS Access, saved it to a CD and I need
to know how I can either change the file attributes so that it is not a
read-only file, or open it as a read-only file in Access and change it so I
can write to it. When I go to file properties and uncheck read-only I get
the following error message:
Error Applying Attributes
An error occurred applying attributes to the file:
[drive:]\[file]
Access is denied.
{Ignore} {Ignore All} {Retry} {Cancel}
Can someone please tell me what I can do?

Try copying the file from the CD to the hard drive and then change the
read-only attribute.
