My OS is Windows XP Professional. I created a folder in my documents, and now
I cannot delete it. I moved the folder to my desktop, and I still cannot
delete it. I tried going directly to its location on the C: drive and
deleting it, that did not work. I also tried deleting it from Windows
Explorer, that did not work. I keep getting an error message stating, "Cannot
find the specified file. Make sure you specify the correct path and file
name." What should I try next? Thanks.

Try deleting the folder when you're in Safe Mode.

I would make sure I was logged in as Administrator and try again. I
would make sure the folder is empty and remove all attributes on the
folder/files.

I'd also boot to safe mode and attempt the deletion again. If this
is a recent issue, I'd consider a restore.

getting worse by the version. What BS... I have the same problem
deleting folders at times to.. eventually it will alow me to.. I
usually get a message saying the file is in use.. even if it is not.

I don't believe a restore is necessary. Something about that folder is
running in memory in normal mode, and since Safe Mode uses almost no
services, there's a 95% chance it will be deleted. Oh, and if you think
Windows is such BS, why didn't you change OS's a long time ago?

I rebooted the computer in safe mode, tried to delete the file, and received
the same message. There are no hidden files/folders inside of the folder I am
trying to delete. I also have ownership of the folder with full permissions.
I don't know what to try next. Any suggestions?

Get the Windows XP CD, boot to it, and start the Recovery Console. If you
know command line commands, you will hopefully be able to delete the folder,
as you won't be in Windows at all.
