- Error msg after installing Windows XP Pro Service Pack 1 update
- Posted by Mac on December 1st, 2007
After installing service pack update 1 to Windows XP Pro, I received two
error messages both saying
"C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v.1.1.4322\msc orwkds.dll could not be
loaded" and cannot figure out how to correct the error. I've tried searching
Microsoft's help page and elsewhere, have also installed Service Pack 2 and
still get the error messages. I'm a computer neophyte, so I've exhausted my
ideas. Does anyone know what I need to do to correct the problem and
eliminate the error messages? Thank you!

Service Pack 2 was the right thing to do; it include
SP1 and all its hot fixes.
It sounds like something you have needs the Framework
1.1. I'd try downloading a new copy of it and see if
everythign works. I don't recall 1.1 being needed, but
that says it is needed, so ... . What you have may be
inomplete or corrupted; that's why I say redownload it
from the net.
You probably have at least one applicatin that won't
function properly because of the missing framework.
