error opening programs in control panel

hi..i just encountered this errors two days ago as it has been fine for
almost a year..i'm on windows xp pro with sp2..when i try to open
certain icons in the control panel, nothing loads..this goes for
add/remove programs, firewall, security center, network
connections..can someone plz help as its getting really annoying..by
the way, i've scanned for viruses and spyware but everything is all
good..thanks in advance.

You could first try a System Restore. Go to Start>All
Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore. Pick a restore point
before this problem began.
