Event Viewer Errors
Posted by Phyllis on February 6th, 2006

I just bought this laptop computer this week - Compaq Presario V2000, AMD
Turion 64 Mobile Processor, 512 Ram, running Windows XP SP2, Norton Internet
Security (everything registered and updated). When the screen goes black
(standby, I think, but could be screensaver) and you move the mouse to wake
it back up, there is a blue screen that starts to flash, you can see the
Welcome screen behind it but it just keeps flashing and you can't do
anything with it except to power it off, or what I did which is put it in
hibernation and then wake it back up, and it is fine at this point. This
doesn't happen every time but has happened about 4-5 times in 3 days. I
checked event viewer for errors with the system and this is what is showing:

Could this be the problem? This is the only error that is showing, however,
there is about three different occurrences of this. Also, when I started to
setup the computer right out of the box, the time was off by 12 hours. The
time zone was set properly. When I clicked update time, it said that it was
unable to update because of an error with time.windows.com. I forgot how I
got it right but I finally did. Is this two different problems or could
they be connected somehow? I may box this thing back up and head back to
Best Buy. I apologize for the lengthy post, and thanks in advance for any
help.
