I turned my computer on and everything in the screen is huge. I have been to
the control panel to try and adjust it but i couldnt find anything to help
me. I have the Windows XP Home Edition

Try Control Panel|DISPLAY|SETTINGS tab. Choose another resolution.
1024 X 768 is often ideal for a 17" display.
