- Explorer doesn't load at logon
- Posted by Eric Boltz on September 24th, 2005
Running Windows XP Pro Sp2 In a Windows 2003 AD network.
User logs on to computer after a reboot, and just sits and stares at his
wallpaper... the explorer shell never loads.
Hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and bring up Task Manager. Click File > New Task and type
in explorer and the desktop loads just fine.
The key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
has a value of Explorer.exe.
Has anyone else run into this before? Any help would be much appreciated!
