- explorer window get set to back when clicking on link
- Posted by Kee on November 15th, 2005
hi, i may have a unique problem, at least i have never seen it before.
when using internet explorer on my brand new laptop, the browser window gets
set to back when i open a link in that window.. and i cant see the original
unless i minimize every other screen open on the computer.
for example, if i click on the browser from the task bar, u can see the
outline of the browser come up, but its behind all the other programs, i cant
get it to come back on top.. the only way to see that page again, is to
minimize all the other programs loaded..
anyone know what im talking about?

This works for me.
press windows key+m to minimize all programs.
Then when you click on the browser in the taskbar it should load only.

thanks for responding, but seems to be a work around to the problem.. i dont
want to have to minimize all programs.. any other ideas? i called compaq,
they told me that i should re-install internet explorer.. but that seems to
be a complicated process, and trying to figure out another way..

Well, if you're worried about losing all your bookmarks in IE, simply
export them to a file on your desktop, name it "bookmarks.htm" or
something like that. Then once you've reinstalled IE simply IMPORT the
bookmarks you have saved on your desktop.
It's in the FILE menu under "import/export" follow prompts
tell me/us how it goes....
